I'm here to provide holistic healing services and spiritual guidance for The Kulture! The Kulture Spa is located in Wake Forest, NC allowing me to provide massage, energy healing, bodywork, and other services to support holistic healing of the mind, body, and soul.
Healing for me is part of who I am. It's part of my lineage. In many ways, healing…being a healer has been my life.
Energy healing, massage therapy, and bodywork are healing modalities that I absolutely love, and want to bring to my community.
A Seed Was Planted
In addition to becoming a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist, I'm also an Energy Healing Practitioner, Master Spiritual Life Coach, and an Oracle. I've been using these gifts to support myself, my friends, family members, and clients through my coaching practice for years.
In fact, it was my previous work that introduced me to massage as a career. As The Spiritual Love Healer, I rented office space from Linda, a phenomenal prenatal massage therapist. I offered Reiki Energy Healing and Intuitive Readings to clients, and did a lot of healing work around matters of the heart.
Linda and I shared a client that came to me for Reiki before her massage and Linda noticed a difference in how less tension the client had so we set it up to make sure she always had Reiki before massage. One day Linda shared with me that I would make a great massage therapist. I took those words to heart in 2018 and now here I am a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist.
I remember printing out a tiny massage therapist certificate and writing my name on it. I added it to my vision board, along with a few other things, and I manifested that ish!!
Healing for the Kulture
Helping my community has always been my mission with the coaching and healing work that I've done. It's the reason why I decided The Kulture Spa was the way to go. It wasn't my intention to open a Wake Forest Spa. I imagined being near the ocean, but The Kulture Spa was birthed in Wake Forest, NC.
In my time working as a massage therapist I noticed many things. The majority of people who receive massage services are non-Black. Most of the owners of the businesses I've worked for are also non-Black. And that's okay, but also it's not.
I also noticed that when People of Color did come in for a massage, they often didn't know what to expect or they were treating themselves for a special reason. And that's okay, but also it's not.
These seemingly small things that I notice like the relief on my clients face when they see I look like them. The ease in asking “silly” questions because this is their first massage. The comfortability with having a scalp massage because we have the same hair and I can massage their scalp without messing up their roots or demeaning their hair texture.
I decided that I would create an inclusive, holistic, trauma informed space because of the things I saw while working as a therapist and the fact that there is a need for this to exist.
The Kulture is Inclusive
The Kulture Spa is for Every Body.
Massage is for Every Body.
Energy Healing is for Every Body.
Spa services are for every Body!
My desire to be inclusive to People of Color and other marginalized communities, such as members of the LGBTQIA+, doesn't mean it's exclusive, in fact that's the exact opposite.
When I say The Kulture it's because I want to redefine what “culture” is. Much of what we see culture to be is still filled with isms. I simply desire to give sacred healing space to people who are typically marginalized and be able to educate them on the importance of holistic health and wellness.
There are many beautiful spas that exist and I desire to create The Kulture Spa to be an inclusive space, that centers melanated beings and other marginalized individuals, and bodies of all types. No matter your gender, size, color, or whatever else, The Kulture Spa is here for you to heal, relax, and restore yourself.
It wasn't my plan to launch my business now. I found a beautiful space that I enjoyed working at, but unfortunately (or fortunately) my needs weren't being met and I didn't wish to work for anyone else as a massage therapist. That fueled my passion to open doors to The Kulture Spa in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
This is just the beginning and is phase one of my vision for us. When you come to The Kulture Spa, you are helping me take care of my family and expand my business to the scale I desire it to be. As I open doors, there will be limited services available, but as things grow and settle my full menu of services will be available for you.
