That is a great question! I remember sharing what I do as part of the Wake Forest Founders business incubator. It was one of those moments when I could feel people looking at me and wondering if what I was doing was even legit.
Let's be real, there are a TON of holistic healing modalities. Not all of them are regulated. Holistic Wellness Practitioner could mean you do ear candling or that you're a coach who helps people eat clear. It could also mean you've been trained in TCM, herbal remedies, or acupuncture.
The list is endless.
So I understood why I need to give clarity on what I mean when I say holistic at The Kulture Spa in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Definition of Holistic
The term holistic comes from the word holism, that sees everything as interacting together and being parts of a whole.
Holistic as defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary means “relating to or concerned with wholes or with complete systems rather than with the analysis of, treatment of, or dissection into parts”.
By definition, holistic means:
🍃considering the parts of a thing being interconnected
🍃treating the whole person
There are so many holistic practices and methodologies, but when I say “holistic” I mean Body, Mind, & Soul.
The work I do supports you physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and I even have some things that can help you financially.
From my own healing journey I witnessed how taking a holistic approach helped me heal, grow, and thrive.
Too often the underlying issues of a problem are ignored because we only look at the surface or only look at one area, when we as a whole being are impacted holistically.
Body, Mind, & Soul Connection
I’ve seen so many people who have consistent tension, pain, or stress, but you don’t have to live your life in discomfort.
For example, if you consistently have tension in your neck due to stress, a massage will be great. It can help release the tight muscles and you will feel better. But if you never address the stress that is causing the muscles to tense up, you will continue to have that same issue.
What you feel impacts your body and vice versa. Everything is connected. Massage therapy goes beyond just being something fun to do to pamper yourself. It benefits your body and mind greatly!
Our body stores energy or emotions that can lead to discomfort. That's why your neck or shoulders get tight when you're stressed. Your body is literally holding on to that energy.
I want to help you holistically so that you can make changes in your life that allow you to feel better in your body, mind, and soul!
The holistic healing experiences I create are designed to support you on all levels, allowing you to create change and live a better life with more ease.
Being a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist, an Energy Healing Practitioner, and Spiritual Life Coach I am equipped with the tools and resources to guide you towards inner peace, wholeness, and wellbeing.
The Kulture Spa is more than just a place to get a massage. It’s a sanctuary of healing for your body, mind, and soul.
