I often get asked how I got into the work that I do, so today I decided to share the why and the purpose behind creating my business and naming it The Kulture Spa.
If you don't know, much of my work in healing was born out of my own journey in life. I've dealt with having to recover from abuse, trauma, and so many different obstacles.
These challenges kickstarted my healing journey, where I discovered yoga, meditation, energy healing practices like Reiki, and crystal healing.
This journey led me to become a life coach because I wanted to help others understand that we don't have to hurt, live in struggle, and can live what I like to call “Abundantly Ever After.”
The Importance of Holistic Healing
After overcoming my personal challenges, I realized how important holistic healing and spiritual wellness practices are.
When I say holistic healing and wellness, I mean body, mind, soul, and also money. Many of my challenges stemmed from not having the resources I needed to get the help I needed or to leave abusive situations.
Financial disempowerment directly affects our survival, health, and wellness. This realization made me incorporate financial empowerment into my work as well.
I previously had a brand called The Spiritual Love Healer, focusing on love, relationships, and self-love. I now integrate those aspects into The Kulture Spa. I've taken all the different things I've created over the years and combined them into The Kulture Spa, including carving out a community called Healing Single Mothers that I desire to establish as a non-profit.
Redefining the Spa Experience
Originally, my business was going to be called Saralmah Sanctuary, but I needed it to be a spa.
I didn’t want a typical spa because most people have a particular image or theme when they think of a spa. I aimed to bring healing back into the spa environment.
Working in different spa settings, I noticed the lack of a genuine healing component. It felt like a car wash: get the car in, do the work, get them out, and bring in the next one.
I disliked the churn and hustle because there wasn’t enough time between sessions to genuinely care for and connect with clients.
The word “spa” originates from healing springs, and I wanted to honor that meaning.
Creating The Kulture Spa
I named my business The Kulture Spa. I spelled “Kulture” with a ‘K' to redefine what culture means and create a safe, welcoming space for everyone, especially those who may not feel included in typical spa settings, particularly people of color.
Spas typically don't cater to people of color, and I wanted to change that.
The culture I aim to cultivate includes everyone because we all exist in the same space and share similar struggles and beliefs, often without realizing how alike we are.
A Sanctuary of Healing
I created a sanctuary of healing where you could find balance in your body, mind, and soul to relax and recharge.
My business allows me to offer energy healing, massage therapy, coaching, and spiritual work. I'm a spiritual life coach and also perform intuitive readings.
I create essential oil blends and love working with aromatherapy and acupressure.
The Kulture Spa is your sanctuary for healing and renewal. My integrative, Sacred Wellness Alchemy, sessions include massage and bodywork, coaching, energy healing, and other techniques to help you transform how you feel in your body, mind, and soul.
I craft experiences, not just sessions, so you walk away feeling good, hopeful, recharged, and at peace.
Opening The Kulture Spa
Interestingly, I established my business, The Kulture Spa, in October 2023. It wasn't my intention to open doors this year, as I had a big vision and was working on steps to achieve it.
However, my experiences in the spa industry pushed me to take the leap of faith, and I’m grateful I did.
I've been open for eight months now, and I look forward to growing with you all and serving the community in deep and meaningful ways.
I'm so grateful and thankful for your support and look forward to serving you with my healing hands.
